CEOLP 2015 Accomplishments
2015 was a big year for the Crestone End of Life Project (CEOLP) and for its sister organization, Informed Final Choices (IFC). Here is a list of key accomplishments for CEOLP, none of which could have been accomplished without the heart, compassion and hard work of our volunteers. Many thanks to everyone who contributed to furthering our mission of service to the Crestone community.
Crestone End of Life Project 2015 highlights:
- Celebrated ten (10) open-air cremations
- Completed Memorial Altar
- Received Saguache County Sales Tax Grant ($3,000) to further providing service to the greater Saguache County area and for site improvements, including completion of ‘finials’ project
- Developed and implemented design for Green Burial ‘Lowering Cloth’
- Developed and implemented new methods for Care of the Body cooling procedures
- Provided training sessions for CEOLP volunteers in the following areas:
– Care of the Body (3 trainings)
– CEOLP Volunteer training using the CEOLP Implementation Manual
– Copper Memorial Plaque Workshop: Learning about materials and their use in crafting memorial plaques - Two volunteer workdays at the site for stacking wood, weeding, cleaning
