Informed Final Choices 2015 highlights:

  • Completed all goals outlined in The Metabolic Studio/Annenberg Foundation 2014 Grant and submitted Final Report
  • Received Saguache County Sales Tax Grant ($1500) to provide materials, information, events and workshops to residents of greater Saguache County
  • Sponsored two (2) Death Café’s, attended by more than 55 people
  • Held two (2) Registration Parties, attended by more than 75 people
  • Sponsored the premiere screening of Adam Sekular’s documentary “Open Air”
  • Featured in High Country News photo essay by Taylor McIntosh
  • Featured in The New Yorker magazine (November 30,2015)
  • Presented at the DEATH OK Conference, Portland, Oregon (October 2015)
  • Published full page information sheet in the Crestone Eagle identifying the services offered by Crestone End of Life Project and Informed Final Choices
  • Hosted Caitlin Doughty, founder of Undertaking LA, Mortician and author ; Middle School students from Evergreen Montessori; visitors from Australia doing a study on community response to death and disposition
  • Provided information and materials on Advance Directives and End of Life Choices to a Saguache women’s group
  • Responded to more than 100 queries from throughout the US regarding end of life issues
  • Currently assisting three groups to establish legal alternative disposition sites in Arizona, Maine and Arkansas
